This week, 365 Cards is sponsored by ‘Digital Delights’ by Louby Lou. The challenge for today is all about color opposites! Not in the literal sense, but more about the opposite of what you would normally do, so like opposite day – what colors would you never put together? One color I really rarely use is purple. I just do not love it, so I have a hard time being creative with it. I also do not generally love purple with red. So, I used purple and red! As a little extra challenge, I’ve used white with ivory/cream, which is also something I would normally try NOT to do. Anyway, I actually really like how the colors turned out here and it reminds me of Paris for some reason!
If you go take a look at Louby Lou’s Digital Delights, you’ll notice that this image is a little bit different than her original design. You may know by now that I can rarely use a digital stamp/image without altering it in some way… so I changed the eyes and moved down the brows a little. That’s it! Well, then I digitally colored it. I hope it inspires you to try some new crazy color combinations!
Thanks for stopping by!
Good morning everyone, I hope you had a beautiful weekend! Mine was busy, but that’s just life for me right now! I have a fun card to share with you today via 365 Cards. It includes 2 elements: the first is a great sponsor The Stamping Boutique, who provided a cute Easter image. My challenge this week was to create a pop-up card, which just may be the beginning of a fun theme for the week
I had a lot of fun digitally coloring this Bunny Egg image! There are so many things you can do with digital stamps. I wanted the pop-up to really be a surprise when you open the card, so I tried to make it just a regular pretty card on the outside, then BAM! Bunny Egg! I couldn’t think of a clever sentiment/punch line for the inside, so I’ll just include something in the note when I give away the card. Maybe something like “hop you’re doing well!” Anyway, Happy Spring to all!
That’s how the song goes, right? Haha… well I’m close anyway.
… and hello from Grandma’s house! I’ve been here almost a week and am glad I brought my computer and the essential crafting supplies with me. I have a card for 365 Cards and fell in love with this image from Heart Song Designs as soon as I saw it. So cute and so whimsical. Today’s Monday challenge is called “Up in the Air” and you’re supposed to include 3 images that you would find in the sky. Mine are a bird, a rainbow and clouds.
I digitally colored the image, which is always a lot of then… then you can print it, cut it out and voila! I’m especially in love with that hounds tooth pattern I created from scratch. I kept this card super simple, but you could add any embellishments you want. Have you ever digitally colored a digital stamp? It’s great for someone like me who doesn’t use copic markers.
Hello and welcome back! I have another card for you for 365 Cards. Today, I got to be inspired and wanted to take this chance to tell you more about that!
First of all, I got to use the little ticket background image from Digi Doodle Shop. I repeated it several times and created a fun background with it. The chandelier stamp is from Hero Arts and most everything else is PTI. The sentiment is handwritten.
Some of you may know that last month I spent about 3 weeks out of town helping my Grandma Patty recover from a heart attack. It was a really special time to be able to spend that much time with her (and my daughter was with us too). Well, this card is inspired by her. First of all, my grandma has this special gift to see the good in everyone and everything. She just wants to be surrounded by things that are beautiful and make her feel good. So, that’s why I used this beautiful chandelier image and then highlighted the pretty scalloped pattern between the rows of ticket images. She’s the type of person who would notice that type of detail and just love it.
Well, unexpectedly I have been called back to grandma’s and will travel to OKC tomorrow where my husband will drop off our daughter Adelle and me, then he’ll say goodbye to us for the next couple of MONTHS. It’s really challenging being apart from him that long, but he has a semester of school to finish. Then, we will all be moving to OKC in the summer to live with my grandma and help out however we can. We’re excited for the new adventure and to get to know family that we don’t know as well. We just have to get through the distance first! I’m grateful for the situation in my life (I work from home), where I can be available to help my family when they are in need. As soon as I heard of my grandma’s heart attack, I just knew that I needed to get down there and be available to help out. I’m grateful for the strength I was given to follow that prompting and look forward to building up our family there.
So, yes, I was inspired! Who inspires you?
It feels good to be home. This blog has been neglected for a little while now because I was out of town for 3 weeks staying with my Grandma Patty. I enjoyed my time there and am going back next month, possibly permanently (but next time I’ll bring my crafting supplies!)
Today I have a card for 365 Cards, yes on a new day! I will now be sharing 365 cards on Mondays! Today’s challenge is the ABC’s of Crafting. A is for Alpha Stickers/Stamps, B is for Blue, C is for Circle. Our sponsor for this week is Sassy Studio Designs and I got to work with a cute Easter image. I chose to only use part of it.
Here’s my card
Glad to be back and I plan for there to be more frequent posts again!
Well it’s been so nice outside lately that it was tough for me to sit down and make a card. I just wanted to play outside all day! However, I’m glad I got to make this card because it’s just my style. In fact, it’s based on a sketch that I created (I made the sketch first, then the card)!
When it comes to cardmaking, I’m generally all about simple simple simple! This sketch is no exception and I’m really happy with how the card turned out.
No ribbon, no buttons, just paper and ink! The gorgeous flower image is from Crate Paper. LOVE it, especially the colors. I used my Silhouette SD to cut out the frame and all the paper (and the stamp) is Papertrey Ink. Anyway, I look forward to seeing what you can do with my sketch! You can interpret it however you like. Just head over to 365 Cards to find out about all the details and to link up your card!
This card is an oldie, but a goodie. I made this card in February of 2010, but I don’t know if I ever have posted it on my blog or not. I used the PTI Damask stamp set to create this giant flower. In fact, everything is PTI except for the patterned paper and the glitter. LOVE this card and I don’t have it anymore, so I will probably recreate it at some point (I’ll probably leave off the glitter next time). Papertrey Ink wants us to share a card that includes a “mega-sized” element. This certainly fits the bill and I’m glad to revisit it! ((Have I posted this before??))
I hope everyone’s enjoying this Saturday! The weather is finally starting to warm up (at least for a little while)!
It always seemed kind of ironic to me to put an exclamation point after the word “shhhhh.” Today’s card is all about subtle and muted themes and colors. I’m using part of a digital stamp from Digis with Attitude, who was our sponsor at 365 Cards this week. I created the label on the computer, then just printed it off. Add some ribbon and some lines drawn with a ruler and there you have it. I popped up the sentiment on dimensional adhesive.
And before I go, I wanted to share this sweet picture of my little one.
Just a funny expression that I love! In the background you can kind of see the quilt I made for her when she was born. That’s the only big sewing project I’ve ever endeavored and I’m very proud of it
Thanks for reading!
Hello hello. As part of PTI’s Anniversary celebration, they put out an awesome free download of small images/sentiments that the stamp designers made. On top of that there’s a giveaway with an AWESOME prize to become a guest stamp designer. All I had to do was make some cards with the free download, which was so fun! There were some that really inspired me. Take a look!
That about does it for now. I’m sure I’ll be back soon with the next installment of the PTI celebration!
Hello! In celebration of Papertrey Ink’s Anniversary, I want to share with you my favorite project from 2010 that used PTI products (which was basically everything). I can’t decide between these 2:
This first card was published in the August 2010 issue of CARDS magazine and a lot of it is PTI!
This next project is my Repurposed Sweater project, where I made a hat for Adelle. The felt and button that I used for the flower are all PTI. This one has gotten a lot of views on the blog and I’m hoping it has been helpful for others!
